Can we just be us? Part 60

Part 60

Jawaher: do you love hamad?

Meera just stared at her now knowing what to say. Was she seriously asking that was what she thought.

Jawaher: I know it's not my place, im sorry, but I have to ask

Meera looked to her coffee trying to avoid eye contact

Jawaher: meera please answer me, are you guys happily married? because I heard some rumers about a business marriage you guys agreed on

Meera: the rumors are true

Still ignoring eye contact

She managed to say

Meera: do you still love him?

Jawaher: I didn't mean for all this, part of my divorce was of my lingering feeling for hamad, but then I found out he was married that night

Meera saw the sadness in jawaher's eyes. It only made her feel bad. She truly loved him and hamad hasn't been the same since she came over to their house.

Meera: he was the ex-boyfriend

Jawaher looked at her

Meera: you talked about him last time we met

Jawaher: I didn't mean to make this awkward

Meera felt like a left out mistress in a marriage even though she was the wife.  She hated how much history they shared, all the stories and memories they shared together.

Meera: you still haven't answered me

Jawaher looked at her confused

meera: Do you still love him?

Jawaher: yes

...

Meera drove home in a daze. She couldn't get what jawaher said out of her mind. Exactly what she needed another problem in her life. She never felt so helpless. Thinking back at the beginning of all this, before she decided to agree to this marriage, she wondered what made her say yes. She secretly hoped that getting married would be an answer to her. A chance for her to love, and be loved.

The next morning…

Meera woke up and looked at the clock, it read 6:15. Hoping in the shower she couldn't help but think of his gift that she got him before all this started. Now it just laid on her table. She debated whether to give it to him or not. She laughed at her situation and remained in the shower enjoying the hot shower. The warmth of the water reminded  her of hamad, of how it felt to sleep next to him. She turned the water off and let the memory slip away. Wondering if she told her friends her situation or if it was just going to make her sound like a pathetic woman who couldn't keep a man,  in her case a man under the same roof. Hessa's words rang in her mind "I wouldn't wear any underwear or anything of matter under a coat and fuck him in his office ", is what she said when meera asked about a good birthday surprise. Well it sure would be a surprise but not something she would do, especially now that Jawaher is in the picture. She imaged Jawaher doing that to him and it only pissed her off. She grabbed his gift of the table walked towards the door.

Meanwhile…

Hamad laid his gift he received from Jawaher on the coffee table in his office. She insisted to meet up with him early in the morning knowing he would be wide awake. Looking at the clock it was still early and not all of his staff has arrived yet.

Meera: already in your office I see, birthdays aren't an exception?

He turned around to see her standing by the door holding a blue paper bag. He secretly hoped to see her before he left to work, but since they were sleeping separately he started waking up before 6 and was long gone before she got out of her room.

Hamad: what can I say, I'm a busy man

He chuckled, it scared him how he missed her although she was still under his roof. She wasn't gone, yet.

Meera: I see why you like coming here early, I might actually start to do so

Referring to the office being empty. Something about it calmed her down

He hoped she would do so, which only meant that he could bump into her before heading to work early in the morning.

Hamad: so what brings you here

Meera: I've got a suprise for you

She walked towards him

A blue wrapped gift sat on his coffee table, it caught her eye

Meera: expecting gifts already

Hamad: it's from jawaher

She froze in her place, she was hoping to be the first to give him a gift, and apparently someone else beat her to it. Someone who knows hamad more than she did

Trying to change change the subject and run away from the situation, she raised her hand and looked at her watch

Meera: I almost forgot, I have have a meeting in 20 minutes

She turned around and started to walk away

Hamad: wait

She turned around

Hamad: I'm guessing you are here for that?

He pointed at the bag in her hand

Meera: ohh, almost forgot

She placed it on the chair by the door

Meera: happy birthday

And with that she left, not stopping straight to her car. She promised herself she shouldn't cry, since it was the agreement she agreed upon.

Hamad only watched her walk away leaving him behind and the gift she left for him. He wanted to stop her but after all it was just an agreement they decide on. Nothing was to come from this, he told himself.

He grabbed the paper bag and grabbed the frame out. He couldn't believe his eyes. There it was, she managed to find it and frame it. It was something he was going to cherish for the rest of his life.

Later that day…

Hamad knocked on the door interrupting meera applying her lipstick. He stared at herb back for awhile. He forgot how beautiful she was, nothing about her stood out but he just saw the beauty in her.

Hamad: ready?

They were having a birthday dinner at his parent’s house

Meera: yes

She walked out grabbing her shoes, hamad noticed her cold behaviour. She was more distant than before. He asked if she was okay but she would only answer with a simple yes. They got into the car and drove off. Meera did the usual as she watched the outside from her window. Hamad knew she was distracted, and that there was something bothering her. They have reached his parents’ house and walked to the door.

Hamad slipped his hand in hers which took her by surprise. She looked at him as he had a smile in his face right before fatima opened the door.

Fatima: hi you guys

Hamad: hi sis

They said their hellos and walked towards his parents

Mom: my babies

Making them and chuckle

Meera saw his family how happy they were, she hated that they had fooled them by pretending they were happily married. Jawaher's words rang in her head. She hated herself for agreeing to the deal.

After their family dinner they got into the car and drove home, hamad sensed meera wasn’t fine, he just knew it. After parking the car they walked side by side to the door. Meera took off her shoes and walked to her room but was stopped by hamad calling her out.

Hamad: are you alright?

Meera: I want a divorce

Can we just be us? Part 59

This chapter has some r-rated substance. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Part 59

Meera did what she always did which was look out the window. But this time it was different. Hamad knew she was upset. He didn't dare to say anything while driving not knowing what to say to her. All he did was glance at her a few times while driving. What Ahmed did shocked the whole family. But meera expected it, deep down she knew Ahmed would choose his mother over anyone else.
Hamad parked the car and got out following meera into the house. He watched her take off her shoes first hold them in her hands then place them neatly in the cabinet near the door. He caught himself watching her and paying attention to every details.

What bothered him is that he saw the hurt in meera's eyes. He knew their mother played favorites and was tough on meera but that didn't affect her as much. Only this time she was doing it to Ahmed and hamad saw how much it affected meera. He saw how she cared and made their problem hers. She was about to go to her room and get ready for bed when he grabbed her arm to stop her.

Hamad: It’s not your fault

She looked up at him trying to convince herself it wasn't her fault

Hamad: listen to me, it was his choice to make and he did as an adult

A tear slowly fell to her cheeks and she whipped it off immediately not wanting to show hamad this side of her, her weak side.

Hamad: come here

He got closer and pulled her into a hug. It was like his body moved without him knowing it. His body reacted to whatever she needed.

...

Hessa: this is soo pretty

Lady: it's actually a new arrival we got this this morning

Hessa: isn't it pretty (showing it to Saif )

Saif: yeah (he said bored out of his mind)

Both hessa and saif committed to moving in together but what bothered saif is the time they would spend shopping for everything. It was a long process and he just wanted it to finish.

Hessa: I'm soo confused

She had both plates in her hands trying to decide which one was best. Saif on the other hand saw them as plates nothing more nothing less, he didnt understand the fuss woman made picking out things like plates and bed spread.

Saif: baby just pick any, they're just plates

The sales woman had an awkward face expression. She just looked at the ground

Hessa: this one

She said after handing the woman the plate in her right hand

Hessa: thank you

They started walking towards the car in silence.

Saif: the silent treatment really?

Hessa: you could've helped a little

Saif: why are you making a big deal out of this

Hessa: if you didn't want to come you could've told me, I'm not the type of girlfriend that drags her boyfriend everywhere she goes

Saif: it's just I'm tired

Hessa: and I'm not, I want this to end, but I also want to start our lives together perfectly

What she said was right and made him feel bad

Saif: I'm sorry baby, I know it's stressing you out also as much as it is to me

He held her hand and kissed it

They were already outside the parking lot heading towards the traffic in the main road.

Hessa: our first fight

He still had her hand in his, kissing it

Saif: are you mad?

She turned to him

Hessa: no, I'm horny

He looked at her with a smirk on his face

Their first fight and it just like that it was resolved. To some people it might not seem like a fight but to them it did. It made everything real, and it turned her on. Stuck in traffic in a car with sexual tension filling the car, made Saif go crazy. He couldn't act on it and couldn't help himself either might as well waste time in traffic.

Saif: push you chair back

Without hesitation she did as she was told

She placed her left hand in the seat belt re-leaser wanting to release herself from the restrain when he stopped her

Saif: leave it, spread your legs

She was obeying every order he gave, she loved it when he took charge.
Wearing a mini skirt was the smartest decision she ever made her entire life. With his left hand on the steering wheel he moved his right hand and paced it on her left thigh giving it a squeeze. He slowly moved his hand to her inner thigh making her heart beat faster. She wanted to lift her body up but the seat belt restricted her from moving giving him all the control he wanted over her body.

Saif: stop moving

What a better way to kill time in traffic

Hessa: we should get stuck in traffic more often

He laughed knowing she enjoyed it as much as he did. His fingers were on her sex over her panties giving her a sneak peak to what will happen in a while. She let out a loud gasp as he slid them inside of her past her panties. He started to move them in all the right places but her body couldn't follow. Circulating his fingers up and down made her breath faster as she held on to the door handle tight making her hands red. She started to moan slightly when he paused a little and saw her disappointed face. He flexed his fingers one more time making her moan louder.

Hessa: ohhh god

He then pulled his hands out smirking

Saif: not so fast, I'm waiting so are you

Hessa: 'fuck'

She crossed her legs trying to keep the lingering feeling of his fingers.

He just smiled waiting out this never ending traffic

...

The coffee shop was half full as meera sat there waiting. She was always the punctual type. She had ordered coffee and was checking her emails in her phone when some one interrupted her

Waiter: your coffee ma'am

Meera: thank you

Taking one sip of her coffee she felt at ease. Jawaher had texted her about the designs and she was ready to show her a few choices.

Jawaher: sorry to keep you waiting

She said sitting down

Jawaher: traffic was crazy

Meera: it's ok, shall I call the waiter

Jawaher: it's fine, I'm trying to cut down on caffeine anyways

Jawaher was tired and meera clearly saw that. She seemed like she hasn't been sleeping. Even with exhaustion she still looked beautiful, meera hated that when she saw jawaher or heard her name she directly thought of hamad as her ex-boyfriend.

Jawaher: here are the design proposals, I personally like the second one best

Meera looked at them carefully examining every detail

Jawaher: I didn't ask for the meeting just to show you the designs, I wanted to ask you something

She said interrupting meera's focus. Meera looked up at her waiting for her question

Jawaher: do you love hamad?

Can we just be us? Part 58

I have posted part 57 earlier today, make sure to read it before this part, enjoy.

Part 58

Driving back home was what he looked forward to most the last few months. But today was not like the other days. Jawaher just had to come in his life. All he thought about was the kiss they shared. It wasn't her fault he kissed her back and he was feeling guilty. He knew if anyone asked him if he enjoyed the kiss his answer would be yes. But this time he was just confused the whole time. Meera came to his mind and he suddenly felt at ease. He wondered how she managed to do that. Without even looking or talking to her she made him feel better. She was the total opposite of Jawaher. Jawaher turned him into wild aggressive man while meera turned him into the sane logical man he is. He noticed Saeed's car parked in the drive through and smiled

Hamad: good seeing you man

He said going in the front door

Saeed: you too

He gave him a friendly hug

Hamad: where's Sarah?

Saeed: friends and what not you know her

Hamad glanced over to meera and saw her worried face. He immediately knew something was bothering her

Hamad: so what brings you here

Saeed: the latest family drama

He said laughing

Hamad actually misses meera's family coming by specially her siblings. Growing up it was only him and his sister, he actually enjoyed the company of her big family.

Meera: I'll talk to him soon

Referring to Ahmed

Saeed: please do, he's a mess

Hamad: visit more often will ya, and drag sara with you

Saeed walked out the door leaving the two of them alone. Hamad saw how worried she was, her eyebrows creased which only meant something was bothering her

Hamad: don't worry

Meera: that obvious

Meera always wondered how he knew what she was feeling

Hamad: everything will be alright

He wanted to kiss her and make everything go away but couldn't get jawaher's kiss out of his head. It only made him guiltier.

Meera: thanks for listening to all that, the last thing you need is my family drama

Hamad: oh well, gotta get some drama from somewhere

He said making her laugh

How much he missed her laugh

Meera: good night

She got up and walked to her room

The next day...

Meera: this is my mom's attempt at making everything go well, she just wants everything to go her way and this dinner is just to make sure of that

Meera's mother had called on a family dinner and expected everyone to show up

She said frustrated

Hamad: what happened to staying calm?

Meera: that ship has sailed

He just found her tantrums cute

Meera: you didn't have to come

Hamad: it's just a family dinner, and I'm actually scared to say no to your mother

She laughed

After parking the car in her mother's house they walked side by side towards the door. To meera's surprise all her siblings where their except for Ahmed.

Alya: he is upstairs

She said coming up towards meera to say hi

Meera: did you see him?

Alya: not yet

Hamad: how are you alya?

Alya: I'm good, the kids won't stop talking about you

Hamad: my fans

Making her laugh

Hamad talked with alya while meera went on to talk to her other siblings. It was time for dinner and they all walked towards the table.  Meera noticed her mother's quite behaviors which only worried her more. No one has brought up Ahmed situation and they were pretending that nothing has happened. Meera hated it when her mother did this, it all started when she and their father got divorced. Even on the day their father moved out of the house she pretended like nothing happened and ate her breakfast. Looking back meera realized it was her mother's way of coping but at the expense of her children.

Mother: Anita (she called out for the maid)

Maid: yes ma'am

Mother: tell Ahmed it's dinner time

The maid ran upstairs into Ahmed's room

Meera: your just going to sit there and pretend nothing is happening

She finally said putting down her spoon, she couldn't take the silence

Mother: it's not the time, we are having dinner

Meera: it's never the time with you, he only wanted your blessing

The look in her mother's face frustrated her

Mother: that reminds me, thank you for giving him that advice

That only pissed meera off more, making it sound as if it was her fault for making ahmed get her blessing

Meera: you were hoping on that wouldn't you, you just can't let anyone be happy, misery loves company

They all sat their quite looking down at their plates. Hamad knew there was tension between Meera and her mother but this time it was more.

Mother: how dare you talk to me like that in my own house

Meera looked down, she had never talked that way to her mother but what she was doing to Ahmed was bothering her. She never stood up for herself but she would do anything for her siblings.

Meera: tell me why? What is he suppose to do? Wait till you find someone better

Mother: look how at how she is talking to me, like I did not raise her, as if I'm not her mother

She always turned her siblings against Meera.

Alya: I'm with meera on this

Shocking meera, they were always fighting and Alya was never on her side.

They were once close but that was long time ago

Alya: I think your being judgmental

The shock their mother had on her face

Ahmed: don't worry about it guys

He said walking downstairs with a fake smile plastered on his face.

Ahmed: I broke it off with Ruqayah

He said holding the ring in his hands.

Can we just be us? Part 57

Part 57

The atmosphere at the house was intense and saeed wasn't getting anywhere with any of his family members. Sara was being sara and never at home to deal with anything. As for Ahmed he wasn't talking to anyone specially their mother. Saeed was desperate to get out of the house. He decided to call meera and let her in on all this

saeed: you should be glad you weren't there

Meera: that bad

Saeed: mom didn't even look at her, she was acting so-

Just remembering made him frustrated

Meera:.defensive

Saeed: you should have seen ahmed, he was really angry

That was saying a lot. Ahmed was always the spoiled one along with their youngest brother abdalla.

Saeed: he tried standing up to her you know

Flashback...

Ahmed: girls and their makeup, no one has original beauty anymore it's all fake

He kept going on and on what got his mind in such a mess

Meera: come one there are still pretty girls out there, look at me (she said joking)

He just laughed

Meera: besides makeup doesn't change your face that much

He laughed even more

Meera: so I better go and look for some girl who looks gorgeous without makeup for you

Ahmed: I want someone you looks gorgeous with and better without

For a college student he sure was demanding

Meera: anyone in mind

She said playing along

He just laughed and walked away

Meera: very demanding

She yelled after him

Their mother was sitting there but didn't say a word until the end of their conversation

Mom: that's not until 10 years from now at least

Ahmed was 18 that time

Meera: if he finds someone then why not

Mom: no, he needs time to develop himself first

Meera looked at the harsh look on her mother's face she just knew that she wouldn't let Ahmed be with whomever he wanted. She wasn't wrong and meera admitted that, but she knew deep down Ahmed wasn't going to be allowed to marry whom ever he wished. It all came down to his mother's choice.

Back to present time...

Hamad was in his office after hours. He has been spending more and more time at work avoiding the awkward tension at home. He didn't know what he wanted and the moment he had time he would spend it arguing in his mind.

Jawaher: always busy I see, some things don't change

She came in disturbing his train of thoughts

He looked at her confused trying to figure out how she came through the door since there was a doorman

Jawaher: your doorman let me in

'I have to give him a talk' was what hamad thought.

Hamad: what do you want Jawaher

He looked back down at his papers trying to avoid eye contact

Jawaher: you

He was looking down frozen not knowing what to a say or do

Hamad: you need to leave

Jawaher: look at me

He knew if he looked at her he would lose all focus and won't be able to stop himself. He was married now, it won't be right

Jawaher: hamad look at me

She was calling out his name which only made him weaker.

Jawaher: I never stopped loving you

She came in closer

Hamad: I can't-

Jawaher: please hamad

She held his face looking at him directly in the eyes

Jawaher: I need you

She breaths in and leans in kissing him slowly. Hamad reacts by closing his eyes, remembering the last time he was this close to her. All the memories he had of her came flooding back.

The small innocent kiss turned into more. It became aggressive as he wanted to feel more, to remember it all. Their first date, first kiss, the first time he told her he loved her, the promise ring and then finally that day. The first day of his life, the day she left him for another man.

Hamad pulled away from the kiss but still held her hand that held his face. His forehead touching hers and his eyes closed.

Hamad: I’m a married man

He took in a deep breath, looked at her deeply and let go of her hand.
