Can we just be us? Part 65

Part 65

Mohammed: hey kiddo

There he stood all smiling. It did catch her off guard, ever since they reconnected she couldn’t help but feel weird. It was like all the feeling she had as a teenager came rushing back.

Sara: don't tell me you’re staying here as well

Mohammed: you already want me gone

He said laughing

Sara: do you even know Saif and hessa

She said irritated

She didn't know why she was giving him so much attitude but he made her nervous and she hated that.

Mohammed: I met Saif a couple of times and hung out

She wondered why she hasn't seen him earlier, saeed had gotten back from studying abroad over a year ago. Saeed and Mohammed were best friends ever since they were in kindergarten but when saeed left he stopped coming by. She knew him ever since she was little; he was like a 4th brother, she grew up with him. But later on she crushed on him which she didn't understand. She saw him every day and knew everything about him then. She hated that she developed feelings for him which made his daily visits awkward for her. But she knew she was just a little sister to him hence his nickname for her 'kiddo'. He graduated when she was a freshman in high school and never saw him again.

Saeed: that was fast

He said coming in through the door along with abdalla and Ahmed

Sara: do you all have to stay here?

Abdalla: what got you so cranky

She ignored them and went back to the couch getting on her phone

Ahmed: we're heading to the pool, coming?

He said to mohammed

Mohammed: yeah gotta get dressed first, you guys go ahead

Three of them left leaving sara and mohammed in the hotel room
The bell boy arrived bringing mohammed's bag. Mohammed grabbed his bag and went into the room then came out few minutes later. He had changed into his swimming trunks but had no shirt on. He did have a firm body but no abs. He still had his glasses on. Sara stole a couple glances, looking up from her phone.

Mohammed: like what you see

He said smirking

She could feel her cheeks flush

Sara: as if

She said trying to save herself the embarrassment.

Making him laugh

He walked out leaving her all alone in the couch.

The wedding day…

The ladies were getting ready on a frantic matter. All they did was sigh and cry ruining their makeup

Fatima: come on we agreed no tears

Hessa: I'm not the one crying here

Aisha: it's not my fault I get sensitive towards these situations

Meera laughed watching her closest friends and family. It was all she ever wanted

Alya: nawari mama yallah

She said getting her daughter into her flower girl dress.

Sarah: aren't you just too cute

Alya: please take here downstairs till I finish getting ready

Sarah was more than glad to go out of the room and into the lobby. It was getting hectic with all the cheers and the sobbing in one room filled with  hormonal women.

Sara: it's not fair you get to be prettier than me

She said making her niece laugh

Mohammed: you do look very pretty

Sara froze the moment she heard his voice. Staying at the same room suit made her think of the olden days where he used to sleep over at their house.
He walked towards them and knelt on the ground facing noora. She blushed and smiled

Mohammed: very pretty, all this for me

What he actually meant was for sara, he loved teasing her.

Sara: see even standing next to me you still get everyone's attention

Noora caught her father with both her brothers making her run towards them

Mohammed got up facing sara smiling

Sara: not bad yourself

She said holding his tie to adjust it

That took so much courage, it was the first time she had physical contact with him since they reconnected. She looked at him directly into his eyes

Mohammed: your  stealing my lines

Saif's voice interrupted them as he called out for her. She was about to leave when he grabbed  her arm making her gasp

Mohammed: seriously you do look very pretty kiddo

He let go of her arm and she walked away

Mohammed just smiled, she always accepted compliments and never gave them back. Knowing her most of his life made it easy to reconnect. He knew her since she was a toddler, he watched her turn into the young woman she was now.

Hamad: would you take a breath

He said to his friend to was starting to freak out. It was a side of Saif he rarely saw. He knew this day meant a lot and what his friend was doing was going to be the best day of his life.

Saif: it's happening

Hamad: it is (copying his tone, making him feel at ease) seriously man, congrats, live happy lives together

He pulled his friend into at man hug

Abdulra7man: get a room, no seriously we are in a hotel there are plenty

Saif: you just jealous my boyfriend cares about me

Saying it in a soft voice

And there it was, no more anxiety, just plain old funny saif

Both saeed and mohammed approached them

Saeed: congrats

Giving him a hug

Abdulra7man: just give it a few years and you two are next

Saeed: not before this old guy

Squeezing hamad's shoulder

Hamad: hey I look about your age

Mohammed: whatever you say grandpa

Making them laugh

The ladies came down since it was time for the bride to walk down the aisle. Abdulra7man got seated next to his wife and kids while sara headed towards the ring boy and flower girls.

Hamad: ready to do this?

Meera: kinda exciting, when it isn't your wedding to panic about

Aside from the sexual tension, it wasn't awkward.  Talking to her was always comfortable and he could say anything without thinking it first

Boy how much did he want to tell her she looked incredible but feared it would be inappropriate.

The party was coming to an end as the couple left to the airport for their honey moon. Meera stayed to tie some loose ends then walked towards the elevators to head to her room. Both her sisters have left leaving her alone

Hamad: always the last one to leave

She jumped in her place as he spoke behind her

Hamad: hhhhh sorry I forgot you scare easy

That was a lie, he never forgot anything about her. In fact he kept tabs on her after he left, he saw that she was different.

Hamad: sorry I haven’t called, I heard about your father

Meera: its, ok

Meera’s father had passed away three months earlier, and hamad could tell meera was still hurting.

Meera: what about you? why are you still down here?

Hamad: had to take care of something for Saif I am the best man after all

He said proudly

Walking into the elevator it was a quite ride as it was only the two of them. Side by side they walked towards their rooms only to stand in front

Hamad: alya and Sara left?

Meera: yep it’s just me

He secretly wished she would invite him in

Hamad: you looked beautiful today

Saying without hesitation watching her reaction

Meera: as do you, um- handsome oh um- I mean you look handsome

That was when he knew, she always stuttered when she didn't want to say what was really in her mind. He felt stupid for not knowing before, all the time he wasted the untold feelings he kept bottled up. Not anymore he said, he was going to tell her and make her fall in love with him.

Meera: good night hamad

He stepped closer getting a few inches away from her face she reacted by closing her eyes making him smile. Getting closer he went past the front of her face to the side placing a kiss on her cheek.

Hamad: good night

He said whispering into her ear
